Mr. James Owen Evans, 77, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, January 29, 2018 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born in Waynesboro on Saturday, November 30, 1940 to Christopher Evans and Annie Ruth Evans. He was a member of Big Rock United Methodist Church. He was self-employed in the Logging Industry. Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Frankie Evans, Waynesboro, MS; 2 sons, Chris Evans (Rachel), Waynesboro, Brayden Ellis (Joy), Copeland, AL; daughter, Stacy Joswig (Rick), Waynesboro; brother, Mike Evans (Hazel), Waynesboro; 3 sisters, Judy Sousa (Paul), Mobile, AL, Martha Blair, Waynesboro, Sue Hutto (Derrick), Waynesboro; 4 grandchildren, Bentley Joswig, Cole Evans, Miles Martin, Alexander Knight; great grandchild, Madlyn Martin. Visitation for Mr. Evans will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Laird and Rev. Jody Smith officiating. Interment will be in Big Rock Cemetery.
