Don L. "Moose" Gatlin

Mr. Don L. "Moose" Gatlin, 78, of Shubuta, MS passed from this life Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born in Shubuta  on Friday, April 28, 1939 to Ollie Gerald Gatlin, Sr. and Medah Gatlin. He worked in Law Enforcement for 32, 1/2 years and retired as Prison Guard at Wayne County Sheriff Department.  He was a member of Waller Ridge Assembly of God.  Mr. Gatlin is preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Gatlin; father, Ollie Gerald Gatlin, Sr. and mother, Medah Gatlin; sons, Timmy Gatlin, Tony Gatlin; grandchildren, Justin Roberts, Emily Gatlin; great grandchild, Shaylene Gatlin. He is survived by his wife, Cathey Odom Gatlin, Shubuta, MS; sons, Rev. Edward Gatlin (Eileene), Waynesboro, MS, Joe Gatlin (Vivian), Shubuta, MS; daughter, Linda Gatlin Lowery (Tom), Heidelberg, MS; brothers, Preston Gatlin, Ellisville, MS, Roy Gatlin, Waynesboro, MS, Richard Gatlin, Shubuta, MS, Ollie Gatlin, Shubuta, MS, Gary Gatlin, Shubuta, MS; sister, Eminora G. Pittman, Waynesboro, MS; 11 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Gatlin will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Gatlin, Rev. Michael Gatlin and Rev. Marvin Griffin officiating. Interment will be in Waller Ridge Cemetery.
