Mr. Copeland Davis, 80, a resident of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his son's residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wayne County on Saturday, May 8, 1937 to Marvin and Lorena Davis. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. Mr. Davis was Co-Owner of Davis Brothers Contractors for 27 years and M & C Timber Business for 18 years. He also worked for the Kelley Brothers and Lindsey West. Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Faye Davis; mother, Lorena Davis; father, Marvin Davis; brother, M. L. Davis. He is survived by his wife, Nelda Faye Davis of Shubuta; son, Marvin "Buddy" Davis (Nadine) of Waynesboro; 3 daughters, Debra VanOrden of Soso, Renett Barnett (Wayne), Venett Holley (Robert) both of Shubuta; step son, Jerry Brady, Jr. of Shubuta; 2 step daughters, Melody Harvey (Mims), Valerie Hennington (Fred) both of Bay Springs; 10 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren. Pallbearers are: Dustin Davis, Austin Davis, Allen VanOrden, Clayton VanOrden, Josh Holley, Chason Holley, Kris Parker, and Chris Harrison; honorary pallbearers are: Wren Chapman, Bill Dew, Jimmy Smith, Willie Miller, Robert Mitchell, and Butch Davis. Visitation for Mr. Davis will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 22, 2017 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with Rev. Brett Golson and Rev. Chris Layton officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shubuta.
