Alice V. Smith Simpson, 75, a native of Wayne County, MS and resident of Citronelle, AL passed from this life Thursday, August 31, 2017 at her residence in Citronelle, AL. She was born in Wayne County, MS on Monday, May 18, 1942 to Walter and Maggie Smith. She had worked as a Machine Operator at the Blanket Factory. Alice is preceded in death by her father, Walter Smith and mother, Maggie Smith; brothers, M. C. Smith and George Smith; sister, Dorothy Trimble. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Odom (Mitchell), State Line, Sheila Gardner (Lenn), State Line, Mary Jane Hair, Mobile, AL; brothers, Raymond Smith, Laton Hill, AL, Paul Smith, State Line, Walter Smith, Jr., Wilmer, AL; sisters, Louise Loper, Laton Hill, AL, Betty Whatley, State Line, Berniece Hagan, State Line; 6 grandchildren, Christy Lindsey (Ben), Jennifer Letchworth (Stacey), Cecil Hair (Deb), Lance Gardner, Niki Odom (Daniel), Cliff Hair (Blaine); 18 Great Grandchildren. Visitation for Alice will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 4, 2017 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Bynum and Bro. Brent Graham officiating. Interment will be in Eret Cemetery.
